Xaxis encoder replacement

Is it possible to replace my 9-15-9 B&S Xcel Xaxis encoder with the encoder from my B&S Xcel 7-10-7.
If so, what kind of settings might have to be adjusted.

If it's the same model, you can change, but you will need to set sinus and cosinus readings with a scope...
