  • alignment question

    I have a primary datum_A as a plane, secondary datum_B is a shaft measured as a cylinder and my terciary datum _C is a circle. now both datum B and C have the same IJK.


    NOT SURE IF THIS CORRECT WAY TO ALIGHN I INCLUDE AN IMAGE OF THE PRINT , DATUM A IS THE GREEN AREA

    This is my alignment
    A4 =ALIGNMENT/START,RECALL:A3,LIST=YES
    ALIGNMENT/LEVEL,YPLUS,DATUM_A
    ALIGNMENT/ROTATE,XPLUS,TO,LIN2,ABOUT,YPLUS
    ALIGNMENT/TRANS,XAXIS,DATUM_B
    ALIGNMENT/TRANS,YAXIS,DATUM_A
    ALIGNMENT/TRANS,ZAXIS,LIN2
    ALIGNMENT/END

    ISSUES ARE THAT I AM NOT GETTING ANY BONUS(OR DATUM SHIFT) FOR THE Ø.250 COUNTERBORE ON LEFT SIDE

    If the 'wide' green circle is the "A" datum, then the cylinder "B" has the same vector as the plane "A".

    Level to the PLANE "A"
    Construct a line from circle "B" to circle "C" and rotate to that
    Origin X & Y to circle "B", origin Z to plane "A".

        do u think it makes a diference if i use a cylinder vs a circle for datum b

          Datum -B- IS a cylinder, hence the perp callout.

            What is the "LIN2"?Constructed with cylinder and circle?if yes,you must to use "Best Fit" to construct.
            see the picture,it used "Auto" to construct.
