I have never come up against this before; I didn't even know they made them. I have a gauge that I must layout and it has a tear dropped shaped tooling ball on it that must be measured. Has anyone ever had to do this before, anyone have any idea how to measure such a thing.

I don't have a camera. Just picture a year drop upside down. The small end is the base. There is a sphearical shape at what is the top of it but this has a flat on it. This sphear is what I'm using to check it right now but it seems like there should be something better. The diameter at it's largest point calipers at 5.93mm and 10.0mm tall. the only thing I know that is teardrop shaped is the spring loaded part holders that are usually opposite a locator. These usually hold the part against the actual locator.
