  • Graphic Window not refreshing

My attached jpg shows the graphics window I currently see in PCDMIS v4.1.

For whatever reason when I run the program I see the old values for the last part still, from a previous setup when the fixture was at a somewhat different location on the CMM Table.

Otherwise the program appears to run normally.

There is no CAD model to this program.

How can I get PCDMIS to stop showing this nuisance data?

    Thanks,

Is this the first time this has happened or does it always do this? Just this one program or all programs?

I'd start by shutting everything down (computer too) and letting it sit for 5 minutes. Then, restart and see if it still does it.

Not sure if this is related but.....Is the cursor at the end of the program when this occurs?

Cursor is at the End of the program, but outside of the normal alignment gyrations nothing changes.

Other subroutine programs also do this.

It isnt the first time this has happened, it just sort of "fixed" itself in the past, and I cant remember what I did, if anything to correct it.

Tried the screen repaint button, but it also didnt help.

Tried restarting the computer also, no change.

Still have that "ghost" image of the last measured features.

Is everything marked for execution? It looks like something isn't getting run.
I remember seeing this happen, but can't remember what caused it or how it went away..........
When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.

Everything is marked for execution. The duplicated data is already there once the program is loaded. New data is placed on top of the old data at the crazy offset shown on the screen.

Is This A Read Only File?

That almost looks like a graphics malfunction. Does the program run correctly, and does this only happen in 4.1?

If so, check out your OpenGL settings and set the z buffer and color depth to the max and see if that doesn't help. If you are using an ATI video card, those are famous for doing things like that in a graphics intensive environment and 4.1 is pretty intense when it comes to graphics.

You may need to switch to an Nvidia card as well, I saw somewhere on one of the forums something about using Nvidia Quadro for 4.1 because of the environment. That is what I use in all of my machines and I haven't seen any sort of graphics issues since.

Currently Im using an nVidia Quadro 2 MXR, yes its old.

Honestly I havent been able to get back to this program yet, but I do have a theory. Priorities, phsit!

Any who! The program does seem to run ok, its just got that ugly crap in the background.

My OpenGL setting are both at 32bits and the Tess. is at 1.

Latest nVidia drivers also. Its ran ok before with this driver, and my current programs I run with 4.1 doesnt have this problem (same computer, same machine).

The file is not read only.

                        My yet unconfirmed theory:
The problem "might" be related to me. GASP 1-800-343-7933

I have two version of PCDMIS installed 3.7MR3 for old stuff, and 4.1 for new stuff.(sick I know, but I dont entirely trust 4.1). In short, I think that the search folder might have been pointing to the wrong alignment directory when I opened up the program in 4.1, as I had just ran some crap with 3.7.

Well, if you are running 2 versions (I have 5 installed) and IF you are keeping the program version seperate (as you should!) then if you set the external alignment to "CURRENT" directory (I think) then as long as the alignment is in the same directory as the program, it should not grab one from the other version.

I'm not sure if it is exactly the same problem we have- occasionally (mainly when using the print window and not printing) either graphics or edit screen will be either blank or have the window overlay covering the screen.

Go back to the print menu and select 'Preview' and cancel/close and the screen is restored.

Try Running Your Program Through Off-line. It Should Place All Your Actuals, Targ, Back To Theo. And Clean The Program Up. Save The Program And Close Out Of It. When You Open It Up Again, All Ot These Should Be Back To Nominals.
I Think Someone Ran This Program Through And Then Saved It Or Closed Out Of It Instead Of Quiting Out Of It.
