Thanks for looking into this James I have found my problem it was an Open GL settings issue. Open GL was set to 0 making the rendering of surface geo impossible. After setting this to 1 I have no problems. Was wondering if you could test this for me using the B&S test block with surfaces to see if this is truly my problem of if it’s the grafx card.
                Thanks again

Funny we should be talking about this as I was just with tech support this morning concenring my question http://http://www.pcdmisforum.com/showthread.php?t=2118

Joe can you give me some more concrete instruction as to what you changed from 0 to 1? There are numerous settings associated with OpenGL and I want to do exactly what you did.

Edit - preferences - Open GL - Tessellation Multiplier Value - set to 1

when it was set to -0- Dmis would crunch forever on the inport of surface geo
