      How was the install done?
If pcdmis wasn't set up to run for all users then it wont work.
Plus new users must be set up as power users with special priveliges to run pcdmis or as administrators.

There should be a warning when installing a new user "Upon running PC-Dmis for the first time, user must have admin privleges" just like when it is installed. Each user has settings written to the reg file.
The way to remedy this is to export reg file as admin, log in as new user and import reg files. This insures that allusers are on the same page.

Administrator rights on new user name. Can you set up Pc Dmis so it would allow all users?

You need to log in as a known user with the proper settings. Custom probe settings for scanning and such are kept in the registry for each user. If you don't care about these settings, just have the new user log in with his/her user name and default settings will be used the first time you launch PC-Dmis. We use scanning probes that need to be "tweaked" in opt probe setting. It's important for us that all users are using the same settings when programming.

What kind of message are you getting when you click on the icon?

                  No success

Pc dmis will not recognize the new user name.

Could OPerator mode have anything to do with it. Just guessing.

Also, why is your Icon on the desktop not the normal PC-DMIS icon? Does it properly point to pcdlrn.exe????

Who set up the user account? It seems there is a mistake.
Look at the icon on the desktop. It doesn't recognize the program. Right click the icon and check properties and make those the same as a user that works.
I still think that the user account is set up wrong.
Why in the world would you want to make a seperate user account anyway? You are asking for trouble.
