  • 3.5/3.7 classroom workbook

Did anyone ever post a copy of the 3.5/3.7 classroom workbook? If it has been posted could someone point me in the right direction (link)? Or if no one has posted a copy of that workbook could someone? I'd appreciate it. I've got an old timer who is just learning PC-DMIS. Knows the metrology side of the biz so I just have to help him with the DEMON side of it.

Never received one - The other programmer and I were already programming in a word editor for LKDMIS and the trainer told us that we did not need the basic stuff and he more or less showed us around the windows and let us ask questions for a week.

James I am sure you do know, but just in case, there are some tutorials on the website probably cover much of the same info. For that matter, give him the test block and show him the F1 button and when you notice the hair he his pulling out has large chuncks of scalp attached, you can jump in and give him a tip or two.
But seriously, you say he just needs to learn demon, a short intro covering main menu navigation and then let him explore some, should do as good as the book. HTH

My copy is from 3.2063, about 5-6 years ago. It has no relevance to 3.5 or 3.7 or 4.0.
As far as letting him on his own, yeah, we are, but it's kind of hard for me or my boss to help out when and if he needs the help. So I thoughht if I could "throw the book at him" that at least he'd have something to work with.

                James,

The book won't help much. Especially an old timer. They know dimensions & stuff like the back of their hands, but the insanity that is understanding PC-Dmis will be a whole new monster for him. Just remain open for questions (repeat this to him), and show him where we CAN do the things, that way back when, we just said, "...wish we could"

All he has to do is learn how to ask the computer the questions in the right manner.
                -i.e. 'Insert' - 'Feature' - 'Circle'

Time with that strategy may help.

                  Will you take a check?
Thanks for the smart-*** answer. I'll be sure to return the favor.

Yeah, Paul I guess your'e right. It never hurts to ask though. Only if you live in SF Bay area. Of course I'd be wearing steel underwear if I lived there though, so it wouldn't hurt that much.

                    James,
I think I might actually have a copy of the workbook in PDF format, at least I think I do. I'm not working at my CMM right now as I have been banished to our toolroom for training. If I still have all of my fingers by the weekend I can probably slip back to my CMM and check for you. I've still got your email address, so if I have it I'll send it your way.
