  • Using 4.0 and 3.7mr3

How can I use 4.0 for playing with and still keep the default directories for 3.7mr3? I have both installed in seperate directories on my computer but whenever I want to use 4.0 completely seperate the default search paths for probes, programs, etc. uses the 3.7mr3 directories.

Is this possible or will they share the same search directory settings?

Yes, it is true that they will share the same directories--I believe that these settings are stored in the Registry, in the OS folder. Everytime you switch between the two diffrent programs you need to change the search paths for probes...ect.

To change these, you have to go to Edit-->Preferences-->Set Search Path

I have a freind that wants to do the opposite.
They have a sheffield that shipped with v3.6 and they upgraded to 3.7 and are still having a lot of problems with crashes, etc...

They would like to try going down to 3.2 or 3.5 and see if that helps. Do you think that is possible. Their Security dongle is USB and they don't know which version of the Interfac.dll to use.

I was afraid of that :/ Just wish it would be seperate so I dont have to go in there all the time and change it.

Not sure you can go back that far with a USB dongle. I know I couldn't last year. upgraded new computer, new o/s Nt to XP , 3.7 from 3.0263 and needed to run both versions due to output differences in the RTF files. B& S tech called in to do the conversion but it would not work. Finally went to back to the Parrallel port dongle with a two computers and two A-B switches.
