  • Cost for an offline seat?

Does anyone know what an offline seat for PC-Dmis Cad++ would cost?

Think the costs differ here in the UK but if I remember correctly its more than the online seats

The following is a quote from a previous thread on the forum. "Instead, I have to purchase an off line seat for $14,900.00 just to be able to program away from the machine ". I believe this person, at the time, received a recent price quote. tlnzz

I think it is way too high for an offline version. But I wish my boss would get it

Thanks for the input guys, I don't think I can talk the Boss into it at that price.

Would it be illegal to make software that can open PCDMIS files and edit them? Like an importing features that can convert them to text files. Just an idea.

I also want to add that you can export the program into a .BAS script file. If you are a basic guru I'm sure you can edit it or program offline that way.

Not sure what .BAS script file is, but on our old LK DMIS, it was sure nice to edit program in wordpad then call it up in program.
Theres got to be a way to at least edit outside of PC-DMIS.

NOPE, no way to edit a Pcdmis PRG file except in Pcdmis itself.

I'd sure like a step by step of this.

If you could edit in notepad or word . It would be one less reason for an offline seat.

Well, you can edit a program in word or wordpad.

All you have to do is have the program visible in the edit window. Go file-printing-edit window print setup-check the "file" box and "rtf" format. Click "OK" then hit F4. It will print your program to a file that can be opened in wordpad. You can go in there and change stuff around as you like.

I don't think there is a way to get it back into a format that PC-DMIS can use though.

Couldn't write it in DMIS (free version) and then bring it in? Not sure how it handles probes etc.
