  • Convert probe file issue.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else get the "Convert probe to latest format" (or however it goes) message randomly? Or is it not random, but something I am doing? I only run one version of Dmis, so why does it keep thinking that the probe file is in an older format? Make sense? Or is it to early for me to be typing still?

Well, if you ever saved a program back to an earlier version, Pcdmis will continue to save it back to the version unless you tell it not to, even when you do a 'close' or a CTRL-S save, it will continue to use the older version for the save. And, when it saves it back to that version, it also saves the probe file back as well. I think (but I am NOT sure) that this 'function' showed up in V3.7, but it may have been there in V3.5 as well.

I am now getting this same issue. I have a dual-arm retro-fitted LK running PC-DMIS v4.2 with star probes on both arms and have been for awhile. However, we just had the machine calibrated this past week and now I'm getting these pop-ups. I have to hit 'NO' - otherwise PC-DMIS blows out all my tips. It's frustrating. One day I'm gonna have to sit down and start a new probe file from scratch.

PS. Sl33stak - you don't by chance post videos on youtube as "sleestaksrule" do you???

Make sure you copy all your probe files and back them up, I have had to re-do them 2 times and finally backed them up (slow learner). Of course since I backed them up I havent had an issue....Go figure....

Need to re-do your tip files, if calibrated using a newer version it might have corrupted your files.
