  • Printing: won't append PDF file

I'm running a cap study & each report is 2 pages long. I set the printing to append to PDF file. This ran great for the 1st 13 parts; then it just stopped accepting new data into the PDF file.

    Why would it stop appending?

I have other PDF files that are larger than this one so don't think it is size-related.

I created a new PDF file to dump the data. The first part data went in fine. The second part will not append into this file either.

I've noticed that there is a PDF security catalog file being created with the same name as the file. I've never seen this before. Is this the problem?
    Where did it come from?
    Why is it there?
    What does it do?
How do I get rid of it?
To some the glass is half full
To some it is half empty
To me it is poorly designed by the Eng & Prod wants me to find a way to measure it in spec!

Do you mean RTF? I cant think of any time where I could APPEND to a PDF, the print driver just doesnt work that way.

It's been working great... until just a little while ago. I didn't change anything, it just stopped working & I started seeing the security catalog file. Don't know what turned on the security catalog or if that's not letting the files append.

Did your company (or you) have a full version of Adobe and, er, lose it? In order to alter a PDF, you must have a full issue of Adobe or some hacked and cracked copy of the full version.

The problem started around 9am today. I wonder if that is Adobe's "shut down" time.

It is working again today. I will have to keep an eye on it to make sure I don't lose any data again.
