PCDLRN.exe from your main pc-dmis folder.

EDIT: i thought you just wanted the start-up icon - missunderstood. :/

pcdmis will create new user folder for each user automatically

you will want to copy all of the contents of the original users folder to the other users to duplicate the toolbar settings and such

      example:

      gbarstate.dat
      layouttoolbar.dat

      etc....

So, if you copy this folder and rename the copy to the username theirs will be the same as the original. Do this for each new user

Alternatively, if you put your versions of those .DAT files in the installed pc-dmis folder, it will automatically copy them into each users folder the first time that user runs up pcdmis (and it creates the users folder inside pc-dmis). Note, this assumes the other users' folder don't exist already in pc-dmis folder.

I tried copying all the stuff over to another user. The windows layout toolbar doesn't show my custom layout. Any ideas?

Ok... the user is already created in windows AND that user has already opened a pcdmis program using THEIR login to windows. This will have created a specific sub-folder in the root of the pcdmis install path C:\pcdmis\newuser

THEN copy the contents of the original users folder to the newusers folder.....this should be the ticket

Pretty sure I did that. I was logged in. I went into windows explorer and copied the contents of my folder into the operator's folder. Then, I logged off and had the operator log on. Started PC-DMIS and then made the windows layout toolbar visible. The custom layout is not displayed. All that is displayed is the standard layouts.

Ok...is the option for the custom TB available in the view toolbar selections?

If it is just select it and save a window layout, close prog, exit pcdmis

If it isn't showing.....ask (PM) Matt H for his workaround in creating a custom toolbar....I think he does it in a old version like 3.5 and copy/pastes it into his 3.7 user profile.....not sure which specific file he copies though

OK, I got it. I had the operator log in. Then I created a new windows layout and saved it. Then I closed PC-DMIS. Then opened windows explorer and found the user profile folder. My layout from before was in there as well as the layout I just saved. I simply deleted the one I just saved and re-named my previous layout with the name of the deleted layout.

Open pc-dmis and there is a button there that recalls my layout. The button has the name given to the deleted layout but that isn't a big deal.

I create the CUSTOM tool bars in V3.5, save my set-up view. I then copy EVERYTHING that is in the same directory as GBARSTATE from the V3.5 install to the newer version, same place to same place. One word of warning, any ICON that has been removed/changed/altered by Wilcox will NOT come through in the new version. For example, I had, in MY customer toolbar, the IMPORT and EXPORT Icons. Well, they changed that, now the icons are specific to the TYPE of import/export you are doing and those are not availabe in the older version, so I lost them and now have to go through the menu options to do them.

THIS IS WHY I WANT A MRU (most recently used) tool bar. The last 10 operations YOU performed will be in that tool bar for 1-click execution. They will change ALL the time, only the LAST 10 will be there, so when you do the 11th thing, the 1st will disappear from that tool bar. This would be VERY HANDY (LISTEN UP, Wilcox) for people who do a wide varity of operations in sequence and do NOT want 10 or 11 toolbars (even CUSTOM ones) on the screen all the time. This would eliminate about 99.5% of MY needs for any kind of custom tool bars.

SWEET Idea.......tell them you want to buy 10 seats if they incorporate it at the next rev then it might get implemented.

MRU toolbar sounds a good idea Matthew, I'll log it as an enhancement request.

I tell you, the CAD package I use a LOT has this feature and it is just about the sweetest thing around. It is very handy when doing sequential operations over and over. Click and done, click and done, click and done. It saves so much time it is amazing. That would be about the best, most used enhancement that I can think of to add to Pcdmis.
