  • IGES solid output

New user, first time posting but always seem to be very helpful answers here - trying to output CAD model in IGES format for use in Solidworks. Only getting features that were measured to output. Lost original file that was imported to do program. Using V4. Thanks.

Lost the original file that was imported? You mean, IGES? It isn't lost, you imported it. Simply import that file as well in Solidworks as well as the measured results. Pcdmis is NOT a cad system, it is a measurement system that uses cad data. You can not alter cad data in Pcdmis, then export it (alter=change levels, colors, alignment, etc.).

        still confused

The original IGES cannot be found on the harddrive; it was imported it off a zipstick so I probably never put it on the hardrive. Since PCDMIS converts it to .CAD for its purposes, I was trying to export it as IGES but only got the measured features (no solid). So PCDMIS won't export anything but what is measured?

Yep, that's all it will export.

Thanks for the help; I was hoping there was a setting that allowed exporting of all data that was on the screen. I'll make sure to store all original files on the harddrive or at least where I can find them.
