  • Program won't end

I've got a prg that was copied from another CMM and the prg won't end. We have to close the prg then re-open it. This is the only prg on this CMM that does this. I've cehcked my settings as compared to other prg's on this CMM and cannot find aything different.

Are you certain the entire program was copied? The reason I ask is that at the end of every program, from the time it begun, (file>new),there is the line "END OF MEASUREMENT FOR" followed by the footer. You cannot place your cursor on this line or the footer. You can change the footer by changing the header, but you cannot in any way alter the end of. . . line that I know of. It may be that when copied this line was missed and that is why it won't end. Unfortunately I do not know how to fix this, but maybe I have pointed you in the right direction. HTH

Does it keep running or just stop and does nothing? Is there a loop comand in the program, if so delete it if you don't want it?

dwade, try putting your cursor at the end of the program and then go Insert - Flow control comand - end program.

        See if that works.

End of Measurement IS at the end of the prg.

I inserted another end of program and that doesn't work.

Here's the program minus code in the middle (forum limits posts to 10,000 characters).

I would check to see what the print setting are set to and also check and see if it has 'search' paths set that are not available to you. I would bet on it being a printing issue.

HOW DID YOU INSERT ANOTHER "END OF MEASUREMENT FOR" AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM, I TRIED AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. i AM UNABLE TO EVEN HIGHLIGHT IT OR DO ANYTHING TO IT.

I dont see the "End of Measurement" - am I missing something here?

Is there anyway to get PCDMIS to rebuild a program such as doing a 'save as'

I DIDN'T SEE IT EITHER, HE'S GOT "END OF DIMENSION LOC8", BUT I DON'T THINK YOU CAN HIGHLIGHT IT TO BE ABLE TO COPY IT INTO THIS POST. I WOULD TRY CREATING A NEW PROGRAM AND RE-PASTE THE ORIGINAL INTO IT AGAIN. IT WOULD BE WORTH A TRY.

END OF MEASUREMENT will ONLY show up if you are displaying HEADERS, it is part of the ELOGO.DAT file, which is the 'end logo'. If it is not being displayed (edit window preferences) it will NOT show up onthe cop and paste. Do not try to copy and paste it, do not try to add it to the program. It is part of a TEXT file that shows up when you display the headers. It is NOT part of the program.

                          Create a new part prg.
open the file :2859-96-200-C MOP DISC COVER and select all the lines of it - copy- and paste it to the new pprg.

Sometimes (generally) it helps to me , HTH

                            program will not end

after paste. The portion of the program that did not paste is were the error will be.
