  • disk probe calibration issue

I am trying to calibrate a disk probe
runs great up to last hit
if i use 21 hits the 21st hit is going to 0,0,0 and crashes
if i use 13 hits the 13th hit is going to 0,0,0, ect.
I am pretty sure i have all the parameters set correctly.
    Any ideas

The starting and ending angles for the 'height' need to be a + and - 7 or 10 degrees (something like that). If one of them is still set to 0 (zero) it will try to hit on the top of the tool.

You set CALBRATION MODE to USER DEFINED, tell it the number of levels and a + and - angle of 10 and it still wants to go to the top of the sphere?

it wants to go to center of sphere

it is moving to 0,0,0 the "core" of the planet if you will

Have you tried setting the prehit and retract to a larger value as well as the CLEARANCE DISTANCE IN Z, maybe it is set to 0, change it to 6" or so.

Try just 12 hits. I believe that PC-DMIS has issues with calibrating disk probes with anything more than 12 hits. I had a similiar issue in the past.
I think its 12 hits....brain isn't working too good today.

5 hits will difinately work. As a last resort.

              Hope that helps somewhat....
