  • I/O cylinder & plane

I want to construct a line, parallel to the C/L of a cylinder
on the OD of the cylinder.
that is the I/O a plane and the cylinder
(the plane is parallel to the C/L of the cylinder)
the distance from the center of the cylinder to the plane is
constant and less than the radius of the cylinder.
I keep getting a line that is on the plane but some sort of
projection of the center of the cylinder (not on the OD of
    the cylinder).
I have tried a number of different options (cast, I/O, etc.).
Anyone know how to force the I/O to be on the OD of the
cylinder and not a projection of the center of the cylinder?

It can be done with math

          Assumptions:
          Plane is in Plane X/Y
Cylinder is YPlus and parallel to plane. This assumption is tricky because it cant really happen unless one of the two is constructed.
          Cylinder is named: CYL1

          Pre-steps
Level to the plane - ZPlus
Axis align to the cylinder - YPlus
          Set X origin on Cylinder
Set Y origin = ?? some feature that controls it (you could do the cylinder but it is not best)
          Set Z origin on plane

          Code:
                      ASSIGN/LINE_LOC_X = SQRT(CYL1.RAD^2 - CYL1.Z^2)
          CONST_LINE =GENERIC/LINE,DEPENDENT,RECT,$
                      NOM/XYZ,LINE_LOC_X,0,0,$
                      MEAS/XYZ,LINE_LOC_X,0,0,$
                      NOM/IJK,CYL1.I,CYL1.J,CYL1.K,$
                      MEAS/IJK,CYL1.I,CYL1.J,CYL1.K,$
                      DISTANCE/2,2
