    Hi all!
We are having a problem with our PDF files. Once the program is complete it should create a PDF file of all the results. However on occasions an error comes up 'A required resource' and then the data is lost.
Has anybody else found this fault before and if so please tell me that there is a fix for it?

    Thanks,
There is no such thing as a problem, only a challenge

We get the 'A required resource' error on all 4 CMM's all the time. The funny thing about it is all the arrows and buttons are replaced by the number '6'. Kinda devilish dont you think. Really freaks the tech on 3-11 out big time. Im wondering if theres a fix as well. Maybe some kind of vodoo.

Are you sending it through the network? If so, try PDFing it just on your hard drive and see if you still have a problem. If so, you know its something funky with the network.

        Good Morning All,

        I am running a B&S Mistral 07/07/05, with pcdmis v3.7mr3.

Typically, I will have the "a required resource blah blah blah", show up at least once a day, and quite often 3 or 4 times in a day.

The only thing that I can do is to shut down my entire system and then restart it.

A long time ago, I learned to hit "ctrl s" virtually every time I program a new feature.

I don't know if this is a pcdmis problem, or a problem between pcdmis and the windows software.

Change your computer to max performance and that problem will go away.It is a windows problem.

Are you taking about "Adjust for best performance" in the Performance Options dialog? Mine is set to that and I still get that error on occasion.

In addition to setting the above I have found that there is a way to trick (reset) the resources/memory.....

Save then Close all open programs, click on start/shutdown then wait a few (10)seconds for the screen to become black and white, then cancel the shutdown. This seems to reset the brain of the confuser. I will do this occasionally during the day after a few 3-5hrs and haven't seen any msg's.

I don't know the technicals for this but it seems to work

I try to monitor how much resources pcdmis is consuming via the TaskManager. I use the Process Tab to view Handles and GDI objects. The system allows 9999 GDI objects per process (XP anyway). If pcdmis (PCDLRN.EXE) is getting close to about 8000 I close pcdmis and start it again.

Yes, lots of RAM for Pc-Dmis, I also like to keep the desktop clean, and use a registry cleaner frequently. Spybot & CC.cleaner are my favorites.
