  • Settings and Layouts

I've just upgraded to V3.7 MR3 from MR2 but didn't overwrite the old files. I'm just wondering where my personal settings are kept regarding button layout, font colours etc... I know it's in a file somewhere...operative word being somewhere!!

look in the "old" mr2 folder for a folder titled in your login name

copy/past the entire folder into the new mr3 directory

make sure to check your "search paths" for proper direction to the appropriate folders for your probes and such
sigpiccall me "Plum Crazy"....but you only go around once!

How do you save your settings once you get them where you want them?

I believe it will automatically save them upon exit. However, mine change without warning. Mostly toolbars floating around but still annoying.

          Probe head visible in simulation

I've another question on this, maybe....

I'm writing offline and on this particular prg I cannot get rid of the Probe Head. I've always seen the probe when it simulates but the whole probe head is in on this one and I cannot get rid of it. If I rotate my part a little it lets me see where the hits are going to be but I do want to do that for feature an this part.

          TIA

Open up the probe window (ctrl+alt+p). Down at the bottom where the probe is built up double click on the portion of the assembly just above the tip. Uncheck "draw this component" and click ok. Everything above the tip will not be drawn.

All of them are unchecked. I've tried closing the prg and re-opening it, shutting PC-DMIS down and re-booting and nothing will get rid of it......

So when you open the probe window they are unchecked or have they reverted to being checked?

Try checking them all, clicking ok in that window, click ok in the probe window, re-open the probe window and unchecking the ones you don't want, clicking ok in that window, then clicking ok in the probe window.

                Stab in the dark!

Well I found the problem.... I have 4 CMMs on the floor and had the probe file loaded for another machine. I went in and did as you had said and realized that the wrong file was loaded. Thank you for the help.
