  • scanning question

I have need to do an edge thickness analysis on a couple of parts which will entail doing a scan around the outside edge of the part at a particular depth, then doing another scan around the inside edge to find places where the material gets too thin. When running the scan, I chose to use a line scan, and convert to individual points. When the CMM is taking the hits though, the probe takes a hit, retracts straight out, moves over then takes another hit. Is there a way to "round off" the corners of these movements so the scan takes less time?

Yes, Adjust your prehit, retract, and manual retract. Usually .5mm or 1mm work good and go from there. BE SURE to increase them though when you go to something else
