Good Morning,
The actual situation depends on the wear of the ph9. The one that I had here, would not handle anything over 50mm. The wrist would not lock in. Therefore I would experiment with the extensions, using gage blocks to verify the results.
Paul,
I have used my 200 MM extension on my PH9 many times with no problems. I have also used the 200 MM plus the 50 MM, you have to be careful with that setup!

I don't think those extensions come with the head, I have all the original boxes that all these things came in. The PH9 is in one box, the PH1 is in a box, the 3 extensions are in a box, it's a lot like a cafeteria, 'Gimme one of those, and one of those and one of those'. Most people get each 'package' but that does not mean that each package is going to work with each other. I can put all 3 extensions on the PH1, and there have been times when I had to, along with the big knuckle as well, but I would not ever even think of putting them all on the PH9.

OK, Why would they send the ph9 with a 200,100, and 50 mm extentions if they are not built to use them?
are you talking about and extension before or after your probe module?
before the probe module (the black ones with the same dia as teh module) you can have an extension 300mm max with a ph10.
after the module, the stainless steel, carbide, carbon fibre, ceramic ones 50mm should be about max, the longer the extension after your touch trigger the lower the accuracy.
