  • PCDIMIS to Datapage?

    Ok, forgive me if this is posted in the wrong forum.

    I'm new to Datapage. I have managed to figure some of it out.
    When I give the comand a path to save to a database, PCDMIS
    ask if I want to update database. I select yes, is this correct?
    After I select yes I get this error:

    Database System Error:-127
    Database files do not exist in selected directory

    When I go to Datapage and open the database, the info is there.

    Can someone please help?

    I appreciate any and all help with this.
    I have to prepare some SPC reports in the near future and I would
    really like to be able to use Datapage.

    There is a file in your Pcdmis directory called XSTATS11.TMP. When this file gets 'bad' data in it, and you try to send the data to Datapage, it will send the 'good' data, but not the 'bad' data (usually this is a bad path name in the file). To clear the error, simply delete this file. Pcdmis will make it again the next time around, without the error (unless you have the path name wrong in the program).

      pc-dmis to data page

      Like matthew said, open the stats11.tmp file using note pad.
      and see what is there.

      You will see the file path it is trying to follow in the top line.

      If the information there is not needed just delete stats11.
      A new file will be made on next run.

        Does this look right? For some reason it doesn't to me.

        STATS/ON,DATAPAGE,$
        DIRECTORY=C:\1_SPC,$
        DIRECTORY=,$
        READ=10,WRITE=20,MEMPAGES=64,DIMENSION NAME,CONTROLCALC OFF,$
        STATS/END

          as long as you have created a datapage database in the C:\1_SPC directory it should be correct. You should be able to open the database with Datapage.

                It is likely you will continue to have this problem (no it is not your fault). If you get sick of it put this code at the beginning of any program you save stats with
                Code:
                V1 =FILE/EXISTS,C:\PCDMISW\Xstats11.tmp
                IF/V1==1
                FILE/DELETE,C:\PCDMISW\Xstats11.tmp
                END_IF/
                Obviously you'll need to edit the path to wherever you have installed PCDMIS.

                It will delete the file for you every time you execute. I do have not deployed this with looping so I don't know what to tell you if you loop.

                    Its all good Buck, glad I could help. When it comes to datapage, one on one is the only way, what it take 3 minutes?

                      Understanding PCDIMIS

                      I am a first time user and have very limited understanding of how PCDIMIS works. Can someone explain what this is or where I can go to get true understanding? I have experience in using COSMOS, but as you know, CNC software applied to CMM operations, allows you to perform measurements automatically. Need Help.
