  • Calibration Problem

I have a Tesastar probe head with the following tip configuration:

    Tesastar M
    Convert_Tesa_to_Renishaw
    SP25M
    SM25-1
    SH25-1
    TIP 5X50 (carbide/ruby)

Yesterday the demon crashed. My tip was at A90B0 and took a hit on the part in the -y direction, about 150 mm from the granite, then for no reason the tip tried to go to A0B0 and went right into the granite, breaking the carbide shaft. (I can't believe the SH25-1 didn't just come off of the SM25-1). So I put a new 5x50 on the SH25-1 and went back to calibrate all tips. It starts out fine but when it gets to the 3rd or 4th tip it just stops and the dialog box says "TR_FG003,Excess Probe Deflection"

    What's going on?
