  • BUILD A PROBE NOT IN PROBE DIRECTORY

    How do you build a probe that is not in the directory. I learned it in class but its been so long , I have forgotten.

    I need a probe file for a:
    Ball dia: 4.0mm
    Length: 100mm
    Stem dia: 3.0 mm
    EWL: 100mm
    Ruby Ball styli with Carbon Fiber Stem

    If I remember correctly edit the probe.dat file. Copy one that's close and add it to the end of the file, edit the entry to suit.

      I'm running 3.5 mr2........Go to your PCDMISW directory and hunt up your PROBE file. Open it and find the closest probe to the one your building. Copy & paste to the end of the file. Then edit till it matches what you want. Remember to rename the tip.

              Mike, Thanks for the document. It is a very comprehensive assistance. The users of this forum should band together and create a "workbook" of all the collective/created helpful documents for future newbies and old farts also.
