Yesterday we switched from 3.5mr2 to 3.7mr3. Now I am having some slight scan issues. I remember from a user group meeting that there was a check box that needed to be selected in order for 3.7mr3 scans to comp the same as 3.5mr2. I believe that its the CAD Comp box, can anyone confirm that? Also what is the Use COP box in the lower left corner of the dialog box?? Ive check the help file for both the CAD Comp and the Use COP and there is no mention. Thanks

Cad-Comp
What type of scan are you using? Relearn, Defined....
What type of probe are you using SP600????
When Scanning with a SP600 the cad-comp will calculate the locations of the points at the tangent point of the probe to the surfaces.
If you are using a TP20, with a scan that is not relearned the cad-comp is not necessarily an issue because the probe comes in on the correct vector to the surface. -
It is the Cad comp box.Last edited by Sean Harris; 06-21-2006, 10:05 AM.Badges..... We don't need no stinkin badges.Comment

Anyone care to take a shot at what the Use COP box is?Badges..... We don't need no stinkin badges.Comment

COP
COP - Cloud of Points......I know that this is used with laser scanning (handle large amounts of points more efficently). I have not heard if it is used with sp600 or tp20 scanning).
Going back to your original question......the cad-comp will not hurt using it for all scans...the algorithim used is slower, so results will be a bit slower in the coming.
You can use the datafield edit icon and do a global change in your program to turn the cad comp on in all of your scans. If you need help with that...let me know....

The datafield edit idea sounds like a good plan, I'll give that a try. Thanks
