  • Probe Changer Set-up, help.

    Hello ya'll,
I'm trying to set-up my probe changer, getting tired of doing it by hand call me lazy...
Been sitting here reading the posts and my dmis manual, but I can not figure this one out. The help section says go to " Edit/Preferences/Probe Changer", but the Probe Changer is not listed under Preferences. I am running 4.0 with a TP200 tip and the Renishaw 6 slot rack. I have a funny feeling there is a setting somewhere I am missing.

    Any Help would be MOST...Helpful
    AntMan,

Your portlock needs to be ponged for the change rack. It is an add on option that may cost you dollars

Yes, that is right, but if you bought the rack thru your B&S rep, don't let them stick you for an additional software charge. Tell them they should have told you about the software upgrade and cost when they quoted you the [email protected] thing! They tried those tricks with my company when we bought a tp20 rack and then again a couple years later when we bought a tp200 and rack. If you bought the rack direct from Renishaw or from a Renishaw dealer, you are at B&S's mercy.

I had the same thing happen. I purchased the TP20 probe rack from Renishaw and they did not tell me that I needed to have the portluck updated. So it ended up costing us $1000.00 more to update it.

Close PCDMIS and run the program called, "Custprog.exe" in the pcdmisw directory. It will tell you what modules you have installed. If you don't have the changer module, you will have to buy it. If you do, just go into the calibrate changer menu and set it up.

Sorry for the long delay, had to use up some of my vacation.

Thanks for all the help. It looks like the guy that ordered pcdmis is always the guy that know the least about the CMM. We've had the CMM for about 5 years and we just got dmis, so the renishaw rack was forgotten by our guy. Not B & S fault this time.

            Many thanks,
