  • Move Points

Today I was writing a program from the training manual and I went to put a move point in and it did not enter it in the edit window. I noticed that when I hit the print button on the jog box the quit and close button on the toolbar depressed but did not activate ??? I also tried the short cut and it did the samething <----noob here so 3.7 mr2 I believe and thanks I will try all and let you know what happens

I don't know that I will be able to help you tonite, but you need to provide some basic info. What version are you running?
By the way welcome to the forum.

      Move Point

If you are trying to add a move point by pressing print it will not enter it if there is a hit registered. If you had a miss hit moving the probe it will show up at the bottom right of the screen. Press Alt/- to clear points. I have this happen on my large CMM sometimes but I just clear them out and it works. I hope this makes sense because I am not the best teacher in the world.

It is a bug. Exit the part program and open it back up the move point will be there. No need to exit PCDMIS. It happens to me sometimes. I'll hit Ctrl+M and nothing shows up so I pound Ctrl+M a few times as hard as I can (see Don's dead battery remote thing, it's human nature) but no new movepoints are displayed. Then I calmly close the program, take a deep breath and count to ten, and open it back up and there will be like five movepoints there from when I was pounding the keyboard, then the problem goes away for a couple of weeks. This has happened to me in my 8 years of programming so I do not believe it is version specific.

BTW this was post #666 for me so take it for what it's worth.

            baylorbear,
A move point can be inserted into a learned point, plane, circle, etc etc..
Just an FYI it may not show up on the screen until the "done" button is hit, but it will be inside your learned feature.

I found out my problem. I tried all the suggestions but none worked. It ended up being the fact I had turned off the "show moves" unchecked in the edit window layout section Dooh!!! Thanks for all the help
