  • Help with slot.

I have a slot or pocket whatever you want to call it which is datum -d-. My problem is that the slot is tapered (will attach a pic and print) and it does not seem to be able to measure as a slot. I don't have a problem finding the center of the slot, but later when dimensioning some hole i lose my mmc from the slot because all I have is a center pt. I hope I explained this correctly. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

By the drawing it doesn't look tapered. Did you try constructing a slot with the means you used to get the center. I would only guess that the dim given is at the top of the taper

The top and bottom walls are not tapered. But the side walls are. The .910 dimension is not hard to get but I have a hole position that gives me mmc of -d- and I cannot use it because I don't have a feature size.

You could construct a generic slot and it will allow the use of mmc

You may need to 'fool' PC-DMIS into giving you the MMC you want from the slot.

If you can't solve it on your own - post your code for better assistance.

            Just do the math.

Anything over the minimum (but not over the max) of the slot is your bonus tolerance.

I guess it would be really nice to have that done automagically...

                  Generic circles will work too.
