  • Is there a way that I can scan a sheet metal trim line in PCDmis?

I think I am looking for something like a perimeter scan or a liniar open type scan that takes a sample hit for every point. It would be like a scan with edge points. Mabey Im missing something, but I really dont see an option of doing this. Barrel probes are not an option for this scan, so Im kinda stuck...Should I just take a bunch of edge points or is there an eaiser way?

    Linear Open surface hits

Dont know exactly what you are doing, but you can use suface hits with linear open scans, this will allow you to get your sample hits.

As previously stated use Linearopen with edge points. Turn "select surfaces" on and pick your needed surfaces then uncheck "select surfaces". Set up parameters as you like them. Sometimes depending on your CAD you may have to do the scan in sections rather than one long scan.

If you are useing this for export to iges. I suggest you also click on at the bottum of the menu, single point and show all. Single point is how my CAD guys like to see it.

When I tried doing it this way, it wanted to scan everything with the initial vector even around a large rad.
