  • PC DMIS Software Issue

    Has anyone ever experienced this?

We finally got our demo block in and I was working on lab #4 yesterday when it froze in the middle of the program. I turned off everything and did not start it again until today. After I turned on the air and the PC, the probe bottomed out and would not return to the homing position...This is the second time this has happened. It also happened Tuesday, but it was okay after I turned off the power and restarted it twice...
I initially believed the problem to software related, but I am also concerned about the probe 'bottoming out' during the initial reboot. the CMM is a B&S 7-10-7 Excel with the old controller which was recently transferred from one facility and setup in another.

I appreciate any and all help that you guys can provide.

    As Always Thanks!!!

Did you have the controller powerd down? The CMM should not move unless it is headed for homing. Call a service tech at Hexagon sounds like your controller is going Awall! JC
