What causes the following database error:

"Error: Unable to access database for write operation"

It scrolls through several files being processed and the error appears.

Try renaming your xstats11.tmp to anything (xstats11_old.tmp) and try re-running it (I rename then delete). If this doesn't correct the problem you may have to create a new database file.

The database could be locked. Run the Editor, select Database, Unlock. Browse to the name of the db which is giving you the trouble and try to unlock it.

Do as suggested with the Xstats11 file, if that doesn't work, exit datapage and browse to the file where your data is. Locate and delete two files (vista.taf and lockmgr.dbl) Now open the Datapage Editor only and unlock your database.
