When I open one of my programs in offline mode. The probe files all have the *asterick next to them. How do you "measure" the probe angles to get this to go away? I have opened the tool with F9, as there is a place to measure the probe just like online, but I don't know how to make it work properly I guess. Mind you, this is offline......not connected to the controller.
    Some help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

This asterisk will always be there....it just means the tip is not calibrated.
It has absolutely no effect when offline.
    Don't worry about it.
I program offline, all day, every day, and always have the asterisks there.
    Lately, it occurs to me
What a long, strange trip it's been.

John, I see that it does not seem to be a problem, but when I execute, I get a prompt that says " The Measured Plane is not supported by the currently "Unknown" active probe". I not only get that prompt but others of the same also.
      Thanks for the help

You need to make sure you have a valid probe file in your program.
When working offline I create various probe files that include ALL of the rotations possible. This way I can quickly choose whatever rotation I need to access whatever I am trying to probe.

All of our CMMs have probe files built the same way.
We only use a handful of probe files and just change the "end" as needed when running programs.

        C-no_ext = no extension (C=Complete)
C-50 = 50 mm extension before the TP.

This is just me, I treat the offline calibration dialog box same as the on-line.

I have parameters, calibration tool, etc.

Create angles, measure all, say no to tool has moved?...Tadaa!

(I know it's just virtual calibration so stddev is zero and all * gone)

+1 I do the same (Mr. Hoe De Man advised me to do it this way long ago)
