database error

My Mexican cohort continues to get this error message
"database Systam Error -901" System error
Does anyone know how I can have him fix it. He's delete the xstats folder. I wanted to go through and make sure they were all unlocked, but he has many and I want to make sure that is the problem before I have him do it. Any suggestions?

Correct me if I am wrong, But I believe that to be a path error. where he is sending it,the database has not been formatted.

It has worked in the past, so I think the path should be formatted. It never really worked that great from the start. It was a used machine and we had all the software contracts updated, but datapage never seemed to work correctly. We copied and pasted because it wouldn't allow us to create new. This did work, but that was a few months ago when I was down there for a visit. I really don't know what and how he is doing things now. Could be something minoor, could be something else.

You do not say what they are doing when they get this message. Updating from PCDMIS or running Datapage? Is the path to the database correct? Can they point to a different database and open that one? Do they have permission to read/write to that database path? Is this across a network or local? -901 seems to be a generic system error.

Create a new database. ANd see if that corrects it.

It would be uploading from pcdmis - He says it happens all the time, but I know it was OK a few months ago. The paths I created were correct, but as I said, I'm not positive of his commands and paths. He has created enough new ones that it would be allot of work to go back through everyone of them, but we may have to if someone doesn't have a positive fix. I was hoping for a definant response saying that this happens when this is entered wrong, hopefully that still may be the case. Local only, no network.

What do you mean "cerate a new database?" How is that done?

I think he can write to the database path if that means, he has all rights to the editor and the datapage.

XSTATS11.TMP is a file, not a folder. So if they deleted a "folder" what was it? Can they open/update to a different database? Can Datapage open the database they are pointing to? Can they manually update the data via the Editor? What is the contents of the XSTATS11.TMP file at the time of the failure? What version of PCDMIS and DATAPAGE are they running?

I will get with Antonio and will ask more questions of what he is doing and running when this all starts to happen. I will get back to this when I have more answers to the questions asked. Thanks for the help so far.

He deleted the xstats11.tmp file, that was my typo.
