  • Control Calculations

This is an option in the Statistics Options menu of PC-DMIS.

Not sure I understand what this feature does, even after looking it up in the help file. Can anyone offer an explanation or an example?

Also, I have several dimensions that I would like to send to Datapage using the Feature Name and others that I would like to send using the Dimension Name. Any ideas how I can accomplish this? Could I just use Stats/On command twice - one for the Feature stats and the other for Dimension stats?

Pick one or the other, do not attempt to mix them. FEATURES or DIMENSIONS.

You COULD (possibly) have it send the data to 2 different databases, one using the features and one using the dimensions by inserting 2 STATS ON commands and selecting 2 different database paths, but you can't do it all to the same one, as far as I know.

Yeah, I guess I'll just edit the dimension names and send it all over like that.

You cannot mix FEAT/DIM output name selections. You either have 1 or the other.

The names you use should be unique in the first 20 characters.

Control Calculations is usually flipped to "YES" if you are using the Monitor program. This flag tells the update program to perform various calculations during the update process and put the results in the database. Monitor uses those flags to give the user feedback (visually) on whether the part/feature is out of spec/tolerance/control.

Use dimension. If you use feature you can only dimension it once.
It over writes when used the second time.

Use Editor to insert feature name in to discription column.
This will show up on all printed documentation then.
