Thread: Faro/Romer Arm Threaded Base

    Default Faro/Romer Arm Threaded Base

First I wanted to say hello as a noob to the forum.

Does anyone know the pitch on the threads of the 3-1/2" base of a FARO Arm?

Background: We are switching from an old Faro arm to a new Infinite 2.0 and I am trying to anticipate if I will have to mod our custom adapter. From their specs, I found that the Infinite Arm uses a 3.5" - 8 threaded base, but I am unsure what our current FARO arm is exactly. I am hoping that they use the same and I will not have to mod anything when it is delivered. I also am unable to measure the threads right now - so I'm not just lazy

//I figured this would be the best forum to post in. I have been using PC-DMIS with our B&S CMM and will be new to the Portable Edition and will be contributing in the near future. Thanks in advance!

We just bought an Infinitye arm and are using our Faro base. As long as they didn't change the base from the Infinitye to the newer Infinitye 2.0. We have the original version of the Infinitye arm.
