My boss would like me to get some ideas on how people deal with the printing problems in pcdmis. I have some parts that take about 20 mins to run, then another 15 waiting to make sure it prints the whole page. The management wants printouts, so saving electronicaly is not an option.
Does anyone send the report to another computer and print it out there, or would I need another seat for that?
Any ideas?

You could print to an RTF or PDF file and then print to paper from another computer. I personally dump all my data to excel and have a custom report form that I use. Why on earth would the bosses want paper when they can have electronic? HTH.

Save them electronicaly, Create a Reports folder inside every job folder. After its saved you can look at it. If it is complete continue the next part. And print from your saved report.

I also save to file (RTF) then while the next part is checking I edit the RTF (in WORD) and print it out (if needed).

I have a fairly cool excel file I save to, for PPAP, and cap studies.
For C.Fixtures, I save to RTF, and edit it from word. I have not printed a report to paper in maybe 2yrs ?!

Both of my CMM's send the printouts to a network printer and they print pretty dang fast. We use a Sharp AR-M237 fax, copier and print machine and the reports flyout. We used to send them to a network printer that was a Hewlet Packard 1100 and that thing took forever to print. It would have to wait to cool down about every 3 or 4 pages. My printouts now average aproximately 15 to 20 seconds for a 15 to 20 page report.
