I'm having trouble getting the changer to work. I'm using a TP20 6 slot changer. I did a full calibration on it with a 2mmx20mm probe.
When I go and try to change the probe modules it seems to be going at it a little off on the height (Z), so runs into the changer instead. Can someone help me? Is there a way to offset this height difference? Or am I doing it wrong?

I had the same problem just the other day. Probe Compensation must be turned off to calibrate the TP 20 probe changer. Start a new program. On the first free line type "PROBECOM/OFF". Then open the window and do the calibration with the 2mmX20mm tip only. (no extensions). HTH :)

I had the same problem with my racks using an SP-600 scanning probe. Z was to high after cal. The way I fixed it was to edit the calibrated Z value of the probe I used to cal the rack with. Go to probe utilities, select the probe you will cal the rack with, click the edit button, change the value of the center z(make sure you write the value down 1st, so you can change it back after rack cal, this way you do not need to recal the probe). An educated guess will probably get it 1st shot. I'm not sure if this is the correct way, but I know it works fine. I was told there's a setting in the settings editor to fix this, I tried it and it did not work. Above method will work. Good luck

I've seen this happen several times myself. As 'corkscrew' says, you can edit the Z hieght for the slots, and that should fix it.
This most likely stems from an error in the calibration process somewheree. This includes everything from the probe definition to the actual rack calibration. Here is a test you can try when you have time.
Delete TOOLC.DAT and the probe file involved in the calibration (i.e. Probe.PRB). Now re-define the probe, and make sure all the components are correct when picking them from the list. Calibrate this probe, telling it that the "sphere has moved" prior to the start of the calibration. Now, re-dfeine the rack configuration and calibrate it again.
See if that doesn't help. The point is, for example, that if your 2by20mm tip is actually 2by21mm, this 'stack-up' error could affect the calibration.

I don't have a probe changer. Hopefully someone can help you with this. I'd hate to think you've been down with this problem for too long.

Fixed.
Had to edit the Z height on the slots to compensate for this difference :)

Had the same problem with our TP20 doing the mcr20 rack awhile back....Wes's solution was what I did as well which solved the problem.The new problem is that I don't understand why. When I did our other machine which uses a tp200 and the electronic scr200 rack, probe comp was not an issue...But that's another story.......B

Anyone here with the TP20/MCR20 doing offline programming?
Also does anyone use thier animated toolchanger in the graphics screen??? If so where did you get the Animated CAD File. We have PC-DMIS 4.1 CAD and it does not have the animated file CAD File for the TP20/MCR20 in the models/toolchanger directory.
